The 100-ton gun is the largest cannon (muzzle-loading gun) ever built. This one was installed at Fort Rinella, Malta, for harbour defence purposes in the late 19th century. It has been restored by the Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna (Malta Heritage Trust). The gun is one of only two such pieces surviving worldwide. Photo taken September 2007.
