In 1498, Portugal ruled Tanzania
In 1700, the Sultanate of Oman ruled Tanzania
In the mid 1800s, Christian missionaries, European travelers, and traders were all very active in Tanzania
Germany ruled Tanzania, Britain ruled Zanzibar. After World War 1, Germany lost control and Tanzania was ruled by Britain

Culture Customs
Tanzania is a very conservative country, please make sure that your clothing covers your shoulders and knees as to not be offensive
This is applicable to both men and women
Native women wear skirts
Foreigners do not necessarily need to do that, just make sure your clothes are not formfitting
