Dwarf pine (Pinus pumila), also called Japanese dwarf pine, is a species of plant in the pine (Pinus) genus. The natural range of dwarf pine extends from northeastern Siberia through Kamchatka to Japan and northern China. In the mountains of northern Japan, Pinus pumila occasionally hybridizes with Pinus parviflora; these natural hybrids Pinus × hakkodensis Makino are taller than Pinus pumila; they can reach growth heights of up to 8 to 10 meters.
