This Volvo P1800/1800 got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1961 Volvo P1800 comes from the first year of production and is a disassembled project that was acquired by the seller in 2016. The Jensen-built body has been chemically-dipped and sits on a rotisserie, and various body and floor panels are included in the sale as outlined below. The numbers-matching 1.8-liter B18 inline four has reportedly been rebuilt and bored .020″ over, and additional components accompanying the vehicle include a four-speed manual transmission, exterior and interior trim, replacement seat covers and door panels, 15×4.5″ steel wheels, and more shown in the gallery. This P1800 project is offered at no reserve with Volvo correspondence, receipts and invoices, the rotisserie stand, a wheeled body dolly, and a clean Washington title in the seller’s name.

Originally finished in white, the body was disassembled and chemically-dipped in 2016 by Metalworks of Eugene, Oregon, and photos showing the bodywork up close are provided in the gallery. Removed and replacement sheet metal accompanies the vehicle, including front fenders finished in green primer, quarter panels, door skins, floor panels, and more as viewable below, along with images of various trim pieces. The seller notes that the rear window glass is missing, while the door and 1/4 window glass and front windshield are included. A hole was drilled into the roof panel in order to allow the escape of air during the chemical dipping process.

The removed dash, steering wheel, and gauges are shown in the gallery below. The speedometer contains a five-digit odometer showing 51k miles, though true mileage is unknown. According to the seller, a crack is visible on the top dash.

The 1.8-liter inline-four is said to have been bored .020″ over and rebuilt with a replacement camshaft, lifters, bearings, and a polished crankshaft, along with an early-style X-fan. External pulleys and hardware have reportedly been zinc plated, and the rotating assembly has been balanced, the results of which are presented in the gallery below. A four-speed manual transmission and 4.10:1 rear end are included in the sale, and the seller states that the flywheel has been machined.
