The Russalka Memorial was built in 1902, nine years after the shipwreck of the ship, who was lost en route to Finland with the loss of all lifes - 177 members of the crew.

The bronze monument was created by Amandus Adamson and represents an angel holding a cross pointing the direction of the shipwreck.
