NEVER DO THESE THINGS IN THE SIMS 2!

                                    

                                              
YOU MUST NEVER:
                          
1. Delete graves - causes corruption! How so? It deletes character data! This is one of the reasons why some of Olive Specter's victims are borked.
                          
2. Delete Sims WITHOUT using the Batbox! - causes massive corruption which can be fixed only by resetting your hood! Aka, deleting your hood from the folder "Neighborhoods" in My Documents-> EA Games-> The Sims 2/The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection and plopping a fresh copy of it back into the same folder!

                          
3. Move Sims from one hood to another - causes corruption, obviously. A lot of people have tried to reunite Bella Goth with her family this way back in the 2000s.
                          
4. Save the game while any of your Sims is talking on the phone. For some reason, it causes corruption too. How so? I wish I knew more.
                          
5. Delete custom majors and careers which your sims have applied to! - I think it's more than obvious that it will cause corruption to your game.
                          
6. Add more subhoods to the custom Neighborhood "Uberhood" and/or "Megahood" from ModTheSims! - the creator of these hoods has stated that adding more subhoods will cause corruption.
                          
7. Install occupied lots! - it will crash your game. I've tried it. DON'T. It's not worth it. If you still want the Sims with the occupied lot, you can simply plop the lot in an empty test hood, extract their appearances via SimPE, save them in your SavedSims folder and then delete the hood.
                          
8. Use CC while playing the premade stories in any of The Sims Stories Games! - the games themselves haven't been designed to be compatible with CC in Story mode. After you finish the stories, you can add CC. Another solution is to replace the story hoods with other custom hoods, as long as they are Base Game compatible.
