14 snare Evans Sound off Pad

Comments:

The Evans are good. The snare doesn't muffle as most of the other Evans. ( However; The Hi hat pad is too much and brittle) Wish be a little thicker, as I think you would still be able to get a good rim shot. This is the best of the three brands I have tried.

Evans Sound-Off pads

Comments:

For faster set up at gigs we use Aquarian InHead drum triggers instead of mic'ing the drums. For smaller venues and for rehearsals we use the Evans pads on the triggered drum heads, they don't prevent the triggers from actuating and they lower the sound level of the acoustic drums so the rest of the band isn't fighting the sound of the drums and we can all get a uniform sound level. The pads are great, the triggers work perfectly with them on the heads, the drum kit sounds awesome and no one leaves the practice studio with their ears bleeding. Oh we also use Pintech 3 zone rides and crashes and the Roland VK11 HiHat for electronic cymbals too, to also help with the volume. The only reason I don't rate this a 5 is because they don't offer varying thicknesses of the pads, that is the only knock on this product.

Drum & Cymbal Mute Pads

Comments:

The sound muting quality is excellent, but the stick bounce is less than that of the original drum head. Consequently, practicing some subtle rudiments is difficult.

Not a durable product

Comments:

Will not last longer than a month's worth of consistent playing. The Bass drum mute is the biggest culprit. Need better quality materials!
