Rotameter, 0.1 to 1.0 L/min Overview

Field Rotameters 0.1 to 1 L/min (on 4-inch (100 mm) scale), Accuracy 3%, Product scale is marked in CCM (cc/min), which is equivalent to ml/min includes removable length of Tygon tubing with Luer taper adapter.

Field Rotameters are ball-type rotameters used for measuring pump flow rates in the field. Made of strong, durable transparent acrylic with tapered hose connectors attached to solid brass fittings, SKC Field Rotameters are easy to use, have an easy-to-read scale, and feature provisions for panel mounting. A removable length of Tygon tubing with a Luer taper adapter is included. SKC Field Rotameters are offered in multiple flow ranges to allow users to choose the appropriate model for their measurement needs.

About Rotameters
A rotameter is a device that measures the flow rate of liquid or gas in a closed tube. Rotameters are secondary calibration standards used to obtain accurate, reliable measurements of pump airflow rates if calibrated to a primary calibration standard on a regular basis.

Red Triangle The ball-type flowmeters and rotameters built into most air sampling pumps are intended to serve as flow indicators and are, therefore, of low accuracy. These flowmeters, as well as rotameters, must be calibrated against a primary standard to verify accuracy.

 

 

 

 

When using a rotameter at a different temperature and pressure than where it was calibrated to a primary standard, the following formula can be used to calculate the flow rate:


Calibration formula

Q2 = Equivalent flow rate in L/min or ml/min at calibration location
Q1 = Measured flow rate in L/min or ml/min
P1 = Pressure in mm Hg at sampling location
P2 = Pressure in mm Hg at calibration location
T1 = Temperature in degrees Kelvin (degrees Celsius + 273) at sampling location
T2 = Temperature in degrees Kelvin (degrees Celsius + 273) at calibration location
