Heidi Klum might be turning 50 on June 1, but the German-American model looks – and feels – anything but.

Per Entertainment Tonight, the Victoria’s Secret Angel and Sports Illustrated cover girl sees 50 as a mere number. “Internally, I feel like I’m 25,” she says. “My husband [Tom Kaulitz] is 33 and I know I have more energy than him!”

Her super-toned figure is thanks in large part to the variety of sports she enjoys doing. Per Celeb Health Magazine, Klum is into tennis, yoga, Pilates, circuit training and trampolining, to name a few. A beach girl at heart, she also likes to swim and prefers running outside to the treadmill.

Even the pandemic didn’t stop Klum from working out. Per Women’s Health, Klum would swim “20 laps a day” and considered herself lucky to have a pool and a spacious garden to sustain her at-home workouts.

Being around kids is a secret to staying young, they say, and this definitely seems to be the case for Klum. In an interview with Women’s Health, she revealed: “My ‘me time’ is more ‘me-and-my-kids’ time,’” like with her lookalike daughter Leni.

The mother of four enjoys going on exciting outdoor activities with them, such as biking or going on hikes – and it’s a fun way to get her daily steps and exercise in, too.

She’s picky with her food

The almost 1.8-metre (six-foot) beauty is known for her strict diets, which vary depending on the film or project she’s preparing for. But she sticks to her healthy eating habits on her days off too, drinking lots of water, eating slowly and in small portions, having her last meal before 6pm, avoiding carbs and including lots of veggies and fruits in her meals.

When travelling, she makes sure to pack her own snacks, such as raw almonds or seaweed snacks. Her breakfast staples include Greek yogurt or a serving of coffee.

On Women’s Health, Klum talked about having a veggie garden at home and liking to cook. She even makes dishes from scratch, like squash muffins together with her children.

She knows when to indulge, too!

For Klum, it’s all about moderation, not complete deprivation. In separate interviews, she has revealed the “junk food” indulgences she allows herself every so often like French fries and a good cheeseburger. She’s human like the rest of us!

She prefers a low-key beauty regimen

When it comes to skin and body care, Klum keeps it simple and natural on off-duty days. She doesn’t put on much make-up, air-dries her hair and, per Us magazine, slathers on coconut oil to moisturise her hair and body.

Her ultimate anti-ageing tip? Making sure to put on ample amounts of sunscreen every day. The model admitted via Harper’s Bazaar how she grew up not knowing much about sun protection, and would even use baby oil to tan her skin. Klum eventually included sunscreen into her daily routine – especially when she’s hitting the beach.

She keeps a positive mindset

On Entertainment Tonight, Klum said that ringing in her 50th won’t change anything, and she’s looking forward to sitting back, relaxing and enjoying it, with her husband Tom Kaulitz in charge of the birthday party planning.

With her fearless, bold and playful personality, there’s no guessing what’s next for Klum, and it’s certainly an outlook that keeps her looking young and young at heart.

One minute she’s hosting Project Runway and sending designers away, the next she’s dressed up in an outrageous Halloween costume she’s concocted at least a year ago (in case you missed it, she dressed up – or down? – as a worm last year). She also released an electronic dance collaboration song with Snoop Dogg called “Chai Tea with Heidi”.

What keeps Klum motivated to keep fit, stay passionate and live freely? Per Celeb Health, it’s her big-picture perspective, which goes beyond achieving her enviable looks – but the desire to live better and healthier, too.
