Buscemi has collaborated often with the Coen brothers, Joel Cohen and Ethan Cohen, including Fargo (1996) and The Big Lebowski (1998). He has also featured in a number of major telelvision series such as The Sopranos, 30 Rock, and Portlandia.
Before his acting career, Buscemi worked as a firefighter in New York City. He is renowned for returning to this role as a volunteer in the weeks following the September 11 attacks.
