Actor Steve Buscemi will be the grand marshal of the 19th Annual Bruce Rossmeyer Ride for Children, a charity event on Sunday that will benefit Camp Boggy Creek.

The camp in Eustis provides sports, outdoor and recreational facilities for children who suffer from chronic and-or life-threatening illnesses.

Buscemi is known for his current role in the HBO series “Boardwalk Empire,” as well as such films as “Fargo,” “Armageddon,” “The Big Lebowski” and others.

The 50-mile ride begins at 10 a.m. Sunday at Bruce Rossmeyer’s Daytona Harley-Davidson at Destination Daytona, 1637 N. U.S. 1 (at the intersection of I-95 and U.S. 1). The ride will conclude at the camp.

As the grand marshal, Buscemi will lead the police-escorted ride. The ride also is open to participants in cars, who will follow behind the motorcyclists.

Minimum donation to participate is $50 per person and includes lunch provided by Outback Steakhouse. Riders can register through 5 p.m. today online at rideforchildren.com, or from 7 to 9:45 a.m. Sunday at Destination Daytona.

For more information, see the website or call 386-671-7103.

Past grand marshals have included Camp Boggy Creek co-founder Paul Newman and actors James Gandolfini and Edie Falco.

The annual ride has raised more than $4 million for the camp since it began in 1995. The camp has served more than 52,000 children since its founding.
