Product Description

Sam is back in another high definition episode to battle his arch-enemy Mental. After finding a Sirian spacecraft in Ancient Egypt, Sam “Serious” Stone hijacked it and headed for mental himself. But this just wasn’t Sam’s day, as he lost control of the alien craft and crash landed in the South American Mountains. Now, surrounded by an even stronger, high-definitionier army of Mental’s evil forces, Sam is forced to battle his way towards Mental’s fortress and put a stop once and for all to his plans for world domination.

What can I say? If you are a Serious Sam fan like me you are going to love it. I have played it several times at different levels. I don't do multi-player but the single player FPS are great. I also have Serious Sam 1 and 3. Love them all! If you like a good FPS, you will like this. The graphics are excellent.

This is a great game, not much different than the original except in HD!
The co-op/death match are nice although it's different from the original and there's not much action in those online matches.

Love the massive hordes of enemies and mindless destroying of all.

If you like first player shooters and massive enemies then this game is for you.

So I got this remember how it was several years back. And you know what? It's as good as ever. The small multitude of weapons and various enemies are always fun to blow into itty bitty bits. I forgot how hard the jump in difficulty was. No health regen, no peak and fire, just you, your guns, and things wanting to kill you. Lots and lots of them.

A lot of great written story and in depth background of the various areas and interactions, but it's all about the large battles and explosions and various scenarios you have to try to survive. Buy it if you like old school challenges, buy it if simplicity, buy if it you don't like having to sit for hours waiting for cut scenes and save points.

Serious Sam HD The Second Encounter is a great game. The problem is that there are no indications that an active internet connection, a Steam account, and access to the Steam server are required in order for this game to operate. The package for this game indicates that it is a "PC DVD ROM Software" title Which leads you to think that this is a stand alone game installed and operated from your Windows PC. Valve Software and Steam have little if any interest in supporting their customers. If your internet connection is down or access to the Steam server is unavailable or you want to play this game where no internet connection is available, you are just plain out of luck. I also purchase Serious Sam HD The First Encounter and have exactly the same issues with it. These games are published by Valve Software. These games would be absolutely fantastic if they were stand alone and installed and operated from your Windows PC. It would also be a good thing if Valve Software and Steam actually supported their customers. Valve Software and Steam seem to be only interested in getting your money. Providing a reliable service or a useable product does not seem to be of any concern or importance to either Valve Software or Steam. I purchased both of these games twice. Once from Steam online and the second time as a physical media believing that the latter would install and operate from my Windows PC. Stupid me.

I regret ever purchasing these games and would recommend avoiding them and all other games that require a Steam account. In fact I would recommend avoiding all Valve Software and Steam products and services.

Serious Sam is a Great game, I ordered this on DVD in hopes of just playing, Wrong this works with Steam, so you have to inrole and then if you need help you have to go and inrole in that phase. Their are no help books. I had seen some place that you can use controler, Not my Logitech joy stick, you have to use MS X box controler.

After expecting to find a much upgraded game, it looks & feels just like the older version of Sam II, not only that but this game cannot be installed without signing up for a "Steam" account which is all B S to me, I don't like online play games, I don't like being forced to sign up for an account with some company just so they can try to sell me some crap, I will never buy anything from this company again, Croteam, you suck!

I had never heard of "Steam" before and now I know why. You must have internet access any time to play the game. You must create a "steam" account to even load the game. It is just more intrusive DRM garbage. I understand their is a tie between Micr$ft and steam. This feels like an MS game release designed to keep you under their thumb... Sad since Croateam makes such great games... I would NOT recommend buying this. As to the HD part. Its a nice upgrade in graphics to a classic game. I only played for 1 level, and I will be asking for my money back since I cannot play it without the internet which was not stated up front.
