GdS: Graphic shows how Gattuso plans to use five Napoli players to neutralise Ibrahimovic

By Oliver Fisher -

Napoli boss Gennaro Gattuso appears to have tasked five players with monitoring the movements of striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and neutralising him.

It will be a crucial early-season encounter at the Stadio San Paolo as Napoli know they can leap above the Rossoneri with their win and possibly even seize top spot.

Gattuso knows his side will have to keep Ibrahimovic quiet if they are to get three points from the game, as the Swede is the top scorer in Serie A with eight goals from five appearances to start the season.

Tuesday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport report that as many as five Napoli players will be tasked with keeping the 39-year-old quiet.

Tiemoue Bakayoko (who is apparently injured) will track the lateral movements of Zlatan, while Koulibaly will have to push up to contest the striker and occasionally slide across to cover Manolas when he pushes up to do the same.

Di Lorenzo will also shift up from the right to cover the space, while Hysaj will stay deep on the left to restrict the potential for crosses.
