  • Deciduous tree, to 30 ft (9 m) tall or more, 15 ft (4.5 m) wide, oval rounded crown, golden stems, contorted and somewhat pendulous, "corkscrew" effect most evident after leaf fall.  Leaves also somewhat curled.

  • Hardy to USDA Zone 4      This cultivar is apparently a hybrid between S. alba 'Tristis' and S. matsudana 'Tortuosa'.  Found in Argentina and introduced around 1971.
