This antique Gustav Becker wall clock from the 1900s is a beautiful addition to any room. This 8 day
clock that is running on springs witch require key winding. The key is included. The clock features an hour and half hour spiral gong'. This gong is mellow and could actually be used in a bedroom as it is soothing. The clock has been refurbished and signed by the original manufacturer in Germany.I have had this clock many years. I completely disassembled the movement to include removing the mainsprings using a spring winder. I then cleaned the springs and stretched them out and reoiled them using the correct oil. The clock had already had new bushings but I still checked for pivot straightness and polished them. I then cleaned the movement and used a polishing brooch on the pivot holes. I also cleaned spiral gong and used steel wool and oil to protect from rust. I reassembled and it has run for many weeks without any problems. Crafted from dark walnut wood, the rectangle-shaped clock measures 30"inches in height and 15 inches in width. Notice the finely beveled glass. The analog brass dial has seen better days as the silvering has tarnished and that can also be said for the pendulum bob. I regret not having a clock club member restore the dial and pendulum but now it is too late. The 8 day spring driven mechanical movement makes it a reliable timepiece. This vintage clock is perfect for collectors and lovers of antique décor.
