First Latin edition, folio, lacking two preliminary leaves (title page and license leaf, both supplied in facsimile) illustrated with more than 270 text woodcuts (many full page) by Hans Rudolf Manuel Deutsch, others attributed to Blasius Weffring, two large folding woodcut diagrams loosely inserted before pages 97 and 100 (not pasted in place); large historiated woodcut initials beginning each section; index in Latin and German; bound in early 17th century English calf boards, rebacked, rubbed and worn, front joint cracking; some annotations trimmed, light intermittent spots, but overall internally clean; colophon leaf and rear flyleaf with early marginalia, other notations elsewhere in the text, including the signature of Richard Layton; later endleaves with more modern ownership inscriptions; 11 3/8 x 7 7/8 in.
