Flashback Friday: Gattuso Scores Against Juventus to Keep Milan's Scudetto Hopes Alive

Do you remember when Milan used to win big games and the Scudetto? It has only been four year since the last title, and it seems like it was a completely different historical period, but there are memories that Milanisti won't forget easily.

For example, do you remember the Juventus-Milan face-off on March 5, 2011? It was a balanced match. The Bianconeri held Zlatan Ibrahimović's Milan scoreless for almost 70 minutes, despite a string of bad results leading into the match (lost to Bologna and Lecce 2-0 in its two previous games), but then the Rossoneri found an unexpected hero.

Actually, it wasn't a good shot and Buffon made a huge mistake in that situation, but the outcome was awesome, as was Ibrahimovic's assist. That was the important thing for Milan, especially because the goal and the win helped it continue its chase to the Scudetto. Gattuso did not score often – 11 goals in 13 seasons with the Rossoneri. He was used to contribute with his defensive skill, but he showed he could do more than that.

Thanks to this awful but crucial goal, Milan could continue its race for the Scudetto. That pursuit ended with Kevin-Prince Boateng doing the moonwalk at the San Siro. Juventus was left out of the European spots, finishing seventh in Serie A.
